Hi, I’m Ivan 👋 — a product designer.

I’ve been designing for over eight years, both as a solo designer and on design teams of 15. My experience includes founding and lead design roles, taking products from 0 to 1, and redesigning established platforms.

Ivan Troubitsine

I enjoy owning the full design process, from user research and product strategy to design systems and polished UI. I work closely with founders and engineers, and feel equally at home working through product decisions as I do prototyping the finer details of an interaction.

Currently at Talin

I joined Talin in April 2026 as a founding product designer. Since then, I’ve refreshed the product’s visual identity, established a new design system, reworked core flows like onboarding and campaign creation, and redesigned the website. I’m now working closely with the founders and dev team to improve activation and retention and shape Talin’s next stage of growth.

Raisin Software

I led product design at Raisin from November 2024 to April 2026, owning research, strategy, design, and testing for a fundraising platform for nonprofits. I helped reimagine donations, peer-to-peer fundraising, ticketing, and system administration. A revamped P2P registration flow increased activation by 20% and fundraising goal completion by 4%.

For the Donation Experience, I turned a vision for more personal giving into a prototype that secured stakeholder and client buy-in and set the product direction. I also presented our roadmap at a company webinar. Explore the work below, from the recording and interactive prototype to the research and design decisions behind them.

In My Spare Time

Focus Reel App

I’m building Focus Reel, a productivity app that started as my second-place entry in Tempo AI’s January 2025 hackathon. I’ve kept developing it since, trying out ideas, getting deeper into code, and learning what it takes to build and maintain a product of my own.

My approach

Over the the course of my career, I've had the privilege of working with diverse teams at startups and mid-market companies worldwide. I’ve led projects across web, mobile, and design systems — through all stages of the product lifecycle, from strategy and user research to visual design and QA. These experiences have shaped the principles of my design philosophy:

1

Collaboration throughout

The most successful projects come from breaking down silos. I thrive in environments where product, design and engineering work in partnership from start to finish. I invite engineers to discovery calls, brainstorm ideas as a trio and regularly communicate my design decisions to the team throughout the project.

2

Think like an owner, not just a designer

Before designing, I start by asking lots of 'whys'. It's crucial to understand the problem we're solving for our users and how it will impact business outcomes. I consider the whole spectrum of desirability, viability, and feasibility to ensure that our solutions truly deliver value.

3

Research-driven design

From customer feedback and data analytics to competitor analysis, I ground my design decisions in research. I value intuition but believe that the best innovation comes from doing your homework and being a subject-matter expert first.

And outside of work, you’ll likely find me doing something active (tennis, boxing, running or weightlifting), watching a movie (follow me on letterboxd) or trying a new cafe in Toronto (check out my list).
